For years, the popular Florida meat and sportfish, dolphin, also known as mahi mahi, dorado, and dolphin fish, has had a recreational bag limit of 10 per person or 60 per boat (whichever is less), in Atlantic state waters.
At the December 2021 Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) meeting, draft changes were approved to this fishery. If approved at the future meeting, FWC will reduce the recreational bag limit to 5 fish per person in Atlantic state waters, reduce the recreational vessel limit to 30 fish in Atlantic state waters, and clarify that captain and crew are prohibited from retaining a daily bag and possession limit.
The minimum sized fork length will remain 20″.
